  Tuesday January 18 - One-on-one meetings

The Embassy will support the organisation of one-on-one meetings with potential Japanese partners/contacts, on the second day of the mission.  Depending on the number of Canadian participants and their needs, meetings can either take place at the Embassy (display/meeting space on the 4th floor), or at the Japanese company's premises.  Embassy staff will provide support in identifying the potential Japanese partners, and may be able to support the actual setting up of the meeting.  It is to be noted that Embassy staff cannot accompany/assist the Canadian participants for their meetings, and cannot provide interpretation/translation services.  Each individual participant will need to retain the services of an interpreter, as required.  We will, however, provide references for professional interpretation/translation services.

Wednesday, January 19 to Friday, January 21 - FOE   2005 Japan Exhibition and Technical Conference

For those participating companies that have an interest in Fibre Optics Expo, we have negotiated with the show organizers to obtain VIP access to FOE 2005 for all Canadian participating companies.  This includes:

-         Free access to the show

-         Invitation to the Networking reception (to take place on January 20, over 700 attendees last year)

-         Free access to all the conferences (about 50% are in English, or have simultaneous translation.  The program of the conferences has not been published yet, but will take place at the show site)
